Saturday Hike!

Hey! On Saturday, Mom and I went for a extra long hike up a semi-local hill (I say semi-local, it took us an hour and 15 minutes to get there). At first Mom was a bit MIGHTY, WHERE-THE-HECK-AM-I lost but then she decided that we were just gonna go down the first public footpath we saw, which turned out to be a good plan since when we got to the first public footpath and went down it Mom recognised it and we stopped being lost. I had a dip in the river which surprised Mom as I don't like water. We carried on down the trail until we got to the top of the hill. The view look something like this:

At the top we stopped for a good fifteen minutes to catch our breath, for me to have a drink and a snack. Which I enjoyed thoroughly and went it was taken away I strongly disagreed, so to protest I climbed on Mom's chest and started licking her treat bag where I knew she hid it. But the little flea didn't give it to me. :( But I guess a rare moment of human intelligence shone through when she gave it back to keep me busy in the car. I chased the ball a bit but Mom was appalled when she threw it hard and I didn't chase, instead I let it roll all the way down the steep hill. Serve her right for stealing my chew! On the other hand I did start to feel a bit guilty when it happened again. When we got back to the top of the hill we set off again. We passed cows, a lake-which I was scared of, don't judge- a waterfall and some fields we reached the main road. Mom got out her phone to call for Mamma and Middle Guy to pick us up-which, luckily, they did.

Mamma and Middle Guy still had some shopping to do so they dropped us off at a gas station to walk the 10 minutes home. On the way Mom took some last photos and I got to play with a spaniel puppy.

Geocaching for the first time

Hi all! So today Mom was inspired by Kyra Sundance to 'Do More With Your Dog ' and also by the April Issue of Your Dog Magazine's article '10 Ways to Put a Spring in your Dog's Step' to go geocaching. The basis of geocaching is to find small caches out in the woods, downs or simply parks in your area. At the moment there are 2,031,577 caches in the world so it was easy for Mom to find a good number in our area. Our aim for today was to find two caches- which we did quite easily- both hidden in fairly close to our home, but one was far enough for a good hike. 

Of course I helped Mom look!

A dog breed quiz...

Hi all! So you all know those personality quizzes on-line? Yeah, well I took one of those- I know they're meant for people but a crossbreed has a wild imagination as any so I adapted the questions to fit my doggie needs and I got...* drum roll*... a MIXED BREED! What a surprise  right? NOT. Still good to know that I am what I am- according to a cheap on-line quiz but hey!

Coat: --- (Hard to detemine- a mix of rough, fluffy and short)
Character: Mixed breeds are possibly the friendliest of dogs! They are very open and sociable, and have a great disposition. (Soooo true! But I can be a little shy of dogs I don't know)
Temperament: Mixed breeds are often more stable then their pure-bred counterparts. Depending on what breeds you mix with, mixes moods will vary (I'm the happiest and funniest -not to mention prettiest- puppy EVER!)
Care: --- (I don't need much grooming- just a daily brushing during shedding season will do but I need the same love and devotion as any breed.)
Training: Because mixes often become very attached to their owners, training may difficult. Once again, depending on what breeds you mix with, moods will vary. They would possibly do best in Obedience classes (Puppy-cock! I am very easy to train- Mommy says so!)
Activity: --- (I go on long walks and when summer comes Mom might start some easy agility!)

First Hike

Hi all!

Easter Sunday must have brought the best walk ever! We left at around noon and came back at five o'clock, exhausted but happy- boy did they wear me out with that ball! Still, I had fun and sniffed butts with plenty of other dogs. We got lost, then found our way and then got lost again. It's all a day in the life of little me!

Friday Fun

On Friday I didn't get a chance to do much as the preparations and catering were well under way for Easter. My weight went up by at least 5 kilos from the amount of treats that were fed to me. In the morning everyone went shopping only Mom was left to fold the laundry and iron. I have to say I did help her though. Anywho, I had a nice, good rest day.

A Late Thursday Update

Sorry I haven't been around guys but you know, a dog has duties. I've had people to follow around ALL day while they were preparing for Easter. However I did get that riverside walk you know.
