Mushrooming

Hey pups! Our internet is back- obviously! The guy form VirginMedia came around today and fixed it. Yay, that means I can get back to blogging and reading up on what you guys have been up to. You don't have to be a bright cookie to guess what I'll be barking about today.

On Sunday, the family (apart from Mamma who was busy) went off into the 'local' forest/heath to look for mushrooms. Boy did we find some! They were mainly Penny Buns and Suede Boletes- if I got the spelling right. The walks itself was very funny, Mom and I of course weren't really looking for mushrooms as neither of us like them but it was fun to blunder through the woods and jump over logs. I have a very peculiar way of walking when the peeps are mushrooming because they spread themselves out over a wide area so as to maximize their chances of finding as many Penny Buns and Suede Boletes as possible. However, the downside of this is that I cannot decide with whom I like to walk best so I spend the entire 2-3 hour walk dashing around at max. speed between the three humans. Talk about exercise! The peeps find this hilarious and constantly tease me about it :( It's not my fault I'm so loyal! Enough talking, I'll let you see for yourself.

The day's first find

I love mushrooming!

Can you see me dashing from Middle Guy to Mom?

A Penny Bun...I think.

MOM!!! Don't show the blogosphere my butt!

Do you see the heart?

We went again on Wednesday but Mom isn't sure whether she took the camera or not, so she'll need to find the camera before we can share those!

Licks and Wags,
Dina

  1. Dina mushroom picking sounds like great fun but we would not know what was safe to eat and what wasn't. Peeps loves mushrooms but I think they are horrid. Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

    1. The peeps come from a long line of mushroom eaters and they've been doing it since being little kids but if they're still not sure then they don't pick'em.

    1. Good thing your Mom does then cos mushrooms that are edible usually grow in woods and forests, not back yards.

  6. Ah, so cute. I need to brush up (i.e. learn in general) about which of our local mushrooms are safe to eat.

  7. That sounds like a fun outing! I have never gone out to look for mushrooms. Morels are highly prized here. :)
