- Get involved with a dog sport, I'm thinking about rally, CaniX or freestyle. (DM: Anyone with experience in these please do share!)
- Achieve a Novice Trick Dog title. We can almost do it we just need to learn one more trick to be able to qualify.
- Compete in one event in one of the mentioned sports. I think this one will be the hardest one to achieve but what are new year resolutions for if not to be challenged?
Wish us luck!

Dina, those are some lofty goals but I bet dollars to donuts you can achieve them! We terriers are just so smart....

These all sound like great resolutions!
ReplyDeleteSome good ideas!

Sounds like 2014 is going to be a busy year.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any of those dog sports, although I am teaching Honey to weave through my legs like in freestyle. But the dog sport I always wanted to try was Treiball.
You'll do great! I often think of doing agility with Faolan, but there is not a club within an hour of me.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Great goals, and I hope that you achieve them! We don't compete officially in anything but I do backyard agility with my dog, Shyla. We also do lots of trick-training on our own. Have fun with your goals!
ReplyDeleteHow fun, we want to see your tricks, when you get your act polished!

I've done Rally with Beryl which is something of a challenge as she doesn't like sitting :) But we've got Rally Zoom here as well which doesn't have any sits or downs ... the only problem there is that I get lost doing the course, duh!! I've managed to DQ us most times we've competed, lol! But I'd really recommend Rally, it's fun and not as easy as it looks! Good luck with everything!
ReplyDeleteYes we'd love to see the tricks too. Have a serene Sunday and get some big easy on today.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Rally looks like fun and is something in Jedi's future. Right now we're focused on conformation and I can't train both simultaneously. I suck!
ReplyDeleteAs far as tricks go, check out Kyra Sundance (Do More With Your Dog). I LOVE her. Jedi and I are working some of her things. Tricks are fun and I don't get as stressed out over them as I do with other things (told you, it's me!) so when we're having difficulty with "front" or "stack" I can throw in a "speak" or "shake" to lighten the mood. It's all the same to Jedi.
I look forward to following your progress!
Getting a trick title is on our list of things to do this year as well. I think Mr. N knows enough to qualify for the second title. I'm hoping we can earn his trick championship this year. We'll see. He doesn't like to retrieve.
